In 12th grade I wrote a paper stating that, out of all the books I’ve ever read, the one that most accurately depicted life was Catch-22. Now, 8 years later, I still believe it.

Joseph Heller created a world where everything made sense, and at the same time, was completely nonsensical. The characters are certifiable, the timeline is shaky, the events are absurd, and yet I still end up, somehow, nodding my head in agreement. In life, as in this book, the crazy is reasonable, to be logical is insane. Heller got it right in that he did nothing right. Am I making any sense? No? Then you get my point.

So here’s to Joseph Heller, you crazy mo-fo. I want whatever drugs you were having.
