Scotland 2014: A Video Diary

Oh hey, guys. It’s been awhile, and I’d like to say I spent the whole time working on this video, but that would be a lie, and I can’t lie to you all. Please welcome me back. Thank you.

As probably most of you know, my mom, dad, and I travelled to Scotland in July for the Turnbull Gathering, a family reunion of my mom’s “clan” in Hawick, Scotland. As the legend goes, our clan chief, way back when, turned a charging bull away from Robert the Bruce, king of Scotland, saving his life. The clan chief was then knighted Sir Turn the Bull, and hence my mom received her maiden name. The Turnbulls are a rare breed, and it was so nice to meet so many of them from all corners of the world: Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Canada, etc.

While in Scotland, we also visited Edinburgh, Stirling, and St. Andrews, plus Northumberland in England. Yes, that’s the Harry Potter (Alnwick) castle you’ll see in this video, as well as tons of ruined abbeys and castles.

I have hundreds of pics, so only my videos are included in this one. None of them actually do the country justice. Scotland is a beautiful, peaceful (at most times) country with wonderful people, and I can’t wait to go back. Thank you mom and dad for bringing me along!

Beautiful Kelly…I always thought that we were English until this visit to Scotland and after this trip there is no doubt in my heart and soul that we may have cross the border once or twice but we are truly SCOTS!!!
