William Hogan, Jr., 1960-2010

     
Billy/Bill Hogan of Middletown, former longtime resident of Highland Falls and an A.H.R.C. community member, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 49.Son of the late William F. Hogan, Sr. and Josephine M. Savinsky Hogan, Bill, the youngest of nine Hogan children, was born in Cornwall on April 30, 1960.Bill, also known as “Harrison Ford”, will long be remembered for his good humor and affectionate nature. He had a warm and friendly manner, brought joy to many, and touched many hearts in the course of his life. He enjoyed calendars, karaoke, word searches, bowling, miniature golf, cheating at backgammon and the Special Olympics. Bill loved being with his family and especially loved being with “his staff” at Newburgh CR, Wallkill IRA and the Henry Cox Center, Campbell Hall, NY. He looked forward to visiting familiar places and seeing warm, friendly faces in his hometown, Highland Falls. He found great pleasure in a good cup of coffee, the perfect haircut, and the occasional Sam Adams.

In his lifetime, Bill overcame many physical challenges. Most recently, he battled the debilitating ravages of Alzheimer’s disease.
