There’s No “I” in Team: Your Weekly DWTS Recap

Ah! The team dance! This is one of my favorite nights on Dancing with the Stars because I love to see the dynamics between the celebrities as they practice and compete together. Remember when all the girl pros wanted to kill Susan Lucci a few seasons ago? Remember the Single Ladies Mambo (see video above)? The team Cha-cha-cha (to Madonna and Gaga!) promises a lot of fun!

Erin Andrews, Quickstep: Len did not like Erin’s Samba last week, and Maks promises a proper Quickstep this week. And he’s also promising to take his pants off. Erin’s not having it. I’m a little sick and tired of them fighting. I need something else from this couple. Hmmm, they took their clothes off, but had other ones on. How cheeky! But the stripping has messed Erin up and she lost her timing. She’s definitely quick-stepping, but the hold and what-not was weird. Ugh, Len liked it. Called it her best dance…I need to take some classes on what these different dances are. It’s times like these I think this show is rigged.
Score: 9, 9, 9

I really hate Brooke’s necklace.

Chad Ochocinco, Viennese Waltz: The Viennese Waltz kind of bores me, so if Chad can make it fun to watch he’ll get 10s in my book. His see-through blazer is a bit creepy. He was really light on his feet and dancing very gracefully – I liked it! It’s also hilarious when Carrie Ann falls in love with a competitor. She makes no bones about it, and she’s in love with Ochocinco. Len called him a “contender.” More bling for Cheryl! LOOK at that diamond!
Score: 8, 9, 8

Nicole Scherzinger, Waltz: The Waltz looks so easy, but it can’t be, right? People have such a hard time with it, even though it looks like you just have to spin around a little. Nicole did some really great things in this dance, and I’m sure the judges are going to commend her for them. The one-legged spin at the end was redonk. Carrie Ann called Nicole the best dancer DTWS has ever seen. And I agree. But you can’t just be a good dancer on this show, and I wonder if Nicole can keep the audience.
Score: 9,9,9

Pamela Anderson, Waltz: Is Pam’s partner Damian gay? Because I want them to date. Great song! Pam is dancing well, but she looks a little asleep. Get into it girl! Nice back bend! But seriously, eyes open! Very pretty, but I don’t think there’s much else to say. I love that Pamela gives Brooke one-word answers. Do you think they fight backstage over who looks better in a bathing suit?
Score: 8, 8, 8

Niecy Nash, Quickstep: Now Niecy and Louis fighting I can take – they’re hilarious. Take that Kelly Osbourne! Niecy surprises me every week – I never think she’s going to be able to pull off the dance, and she always does. This Quickstep was definitely better than Erin’s, if somewhat slower. The judges are all in agreement that this was her best dance so far this season. Well done, girl!
Score: 9, 8, 8 (Niecy seriously just lost it when she saw Carrie Ann’s 9-paddle. “I can dance!!” Adorable.)

Evan Lysacek, Argentine Tango: Evan in a tuxedo…give the man a 10 right now. Although, he is really tan this week and it’s kind of throwing me off. I also love that he dances with a pom-pom hat. I have a feeling this is going to be really good – because Evan’s strong and Anna’s little. He could throw her into the crowd if he wanted…oh man, I wish I had video of that spin that just happened – it was crazy stupid! That’s was UNsane – one of my favorite dances of the season! STANDING O for Evan! Carrie Ann just grunted. I smell a 10!
Score: 10, 10, 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First perfect score of the season! (Len’s first 10 of the season!)

UPDATE: Got the video for Evan’s Argentine Tango. See below.

TEAM CHA-CHA-CHA
Team Gaga: Pamela Anderson and Damian; Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl; Nicole Scherzinger and Derek
Pam is finding it hard to follow – she might mean trouble for Chad, who’s already cha-cha-ed, and Nicole who does everything perfect. I may be the only person in the world that thinks this song is annoying, but whatever. And how did Cheryl get extensions in 30 minutes? Pam’s got drunk hair again – flashback to Week 1. There’s fun Chad again – I love it! Derek’s vest is too short, that’s the only bad thing I can say about him and Nicole. I thought the parts where they danced as a team were awesome – but the individual parts were rough. Chad calls this team “Pow, Wow and Bam!”
Score: 9, 9, 9

Team Madonna: Evan Lysacek and Anna; Neicy Nash and Louis; Erin Andrews and Maks
I didn’t get much out of that rehearsal clip except the phone plug – advertising without shame. Hmmm, I feel like I’m watching the dance sequence of a cheesy 80s movie. But I do love when Evan sings along to the music. You sing to Madonna Evan! Louis’ doing his George Michael impression again. I don’t think this dance is going to get great points, but I’m getting a kick out of it. You know Erin Andrews dressed up in this EXACT outfit when she was little and danced around her room. Wow – the group dance at the end is pretty good – and people are taking their clothes off again…of course.
Score: 8, 8, 8

It’s gonna be a tough choice this week. I’m thinking it might be Pam’s time to finally go – what about you guys?

I need to keep in mind not to read on Mondays. Or at least wait 3 hours before I do. 🙂

All I think is that Even Lysechek must have some full-body dipping pool at home, brimming with bronzer, and I kind of hate him. He talks like a surfer, looks like part of Christopher Moltisanti’s crew, and is always wearing a smug look on his face.
