College Gameday: AAA Lot Edition

If you build it, they will…perform.

My parents have had the same tailgate spot at Army football games for at least a decade, and this past weekend, as Army went on to beat I-AA VMI, there just happened to be a Gameday-like platform in the nearby vicinity. Don’t give us a stage and tell us not to use it.

Take a glimpse at the somewhat less famous versions of (from l to r) Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Lee Corso. Check out vid number two for my favorite part, AAA-Lot-Erin-Andrews’ sneak attack on AAA-Lot-Kirk.

The Extra Point: If you weren’t there and can name the “fan” in the Civil War cavalry hat, you will win my undying admiration.

Quote of the Day

Apparently there was a whole mess of crazy going on last night in the MLB playoffs. Just a few seemingly missed calls paired with a couple of game-changing hits and managers start getting ejected left and right.

You know who else was ejected last night? One of the players in the CAC’s B1 West Men’s 5v5 league. And then he wouldn’t leave the gym. Because that’s how we roll at the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club.

“Young hits a three-run home run to blow the game open. (And so, Joe Maddon picked up the first ejection from a postseason game by anyone since 2005.) Berkman hits a double that ended up bringing home the game-winning RBI for the Yankees. (And so Ron Gardenhire picked up the first ejection from a postseason game by anyone in about three hours.)” – ESPN’s Sportscenter Rundown

A Tribute to Randy Moss

Now, Randy Moss is a crazy MF. We all know this. He’s right up there with Chad Johnson Ochocinco and Terrell “I didn’t try to kill myself” Owens. But when I was about 13, I saw Randy Moss literally jump over another person to score a touchdown. Granted, that person was an Army defenseman when Army was not very good and in its first season in Conference USA. But still. He just jumped over him. Like he wasn’t even there. And this, my friends, is football history.

Enjoy Minnesota Randy. Straight cash…homey.
