Guy of the Month: Matt B.

Runnin' It.

Name: Matt
Age: In years, 30ish. In mind, somewhere around 15
Likes: Ala-BAMA football, Bobby Huggins, Carter and Mary Carter
Dislikes: Buzz Aldrin

My mom has a habit of finding complete strangers to come and live with us. Over the course of my lifetime, approximately 432 people have stayed at the Carroll home, and Matt was one of them.

Matt came to us in 2005 when his parents left him in a basket on our doorstep. The note read “We didn’t sign up for this. Love, Barb and Ed.” We really had no choice. He lived with us for an extended summer, and even when his house was finally built, he wouldn’t leave.

Happy Birthday Poppy!

It’s Pop’s 84th birthday, and just because he has to spend it in Heaven doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate it down here.

Share your favorite Pop memory in the comment section below. I’ll start.

I have two: the first is the time that squirrel fell on Pop’s head in Coral Springs and did the Road Runner shuffle until his bucket hat flew off. The second is the time my mom shot Pop in the chest with a vacuum. She burned off all his chest hair and the push back put a dent in the kitchen wall. Jesus Christ Jeanette!

Ok, go! Celebrate the spirit of Pop today with a cold beer and a funny story. And maybe a good bar fight or two.

The Mooch Has Landed!

Just got word from Ft. Lewis, WA, and Matt Weisner is officially back from Iraq after a year away. Aunt Binkie, Uncle Kev and Deb are all there to welcome him home!

Matt left last September, and since he’s been gone he got engaged and got promoted. Capt. Weisner has a kick-ass bachelor party and an even better wedding waiting for him back in NY.

Glad to have you back Matty! Can’t wait to see you! And thank you to you and all the troops for everything you do for us.
