NoMad Blog is on the Move!

So I guess I’m trying to break into the Guinness Book of World Records with the “Most Places Lived in a Five-Year Period.” Let’s see: since 2006, there’s been Brookline, Washington, DC, Highland Falls, Center Moriches, Jamesport, Highland Falls (again) and Boston. They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and that was never more clear to me than on Sunday. While some booths contained beautiful furniture, glass fixtures, and jewelry, others were selling baby doll heads and used socks. I’m not totally sure what the exact definition of “antique” is, but I know it does not include gum wrappers or old oil cans.

This is a woman who usually calls me if I don’t check in every three hours, but did I hear from her at all? Not once. And when I finally did call her to see if there was room for me out at the beach house this weekend, what was her response? “I don’t know. Brett and I have to go to a seal release on Saturday.” I couldn’t even get her to play one round of Chutes and Ladders with me when I was little.
