Boston College athletic director Gene DeFilippo is expected to name Cornell head coach Steve Donahue as the school’s replacement for former coach Al Skinner, who was recently fired from the position after 13 years.
While no school-sponsored announcement has been made, basketball analysts, bloggers and random people I’ve been e-mailing are all naming Donahue as Skinner’s successor. According to the Boston Herald, Donahue was on campus this morning to meet with Boston College President Fr. William Leahy.
Donahue has been the head coach at Cornell for 10 years, and led the team to a Sweet 16 performance in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
According to reports, a press conference is scheduled for Wednesday.
