This Week’s Best Quotes from The Office

Either the writers have stepped up their game going into Steve Carrell’s Swan Song or Will Ferrell’s presence has put all the actors on point.

In “Training Day,” Michael Scott meets his replacement, DeAngelo (played by Ferrell), and becomes nostalgic for the place he is soon to leave. While not necessarily the funniest episode ever, it may have been my favorite of the season, because it seemed like everyone was back to their old tricks, instead of playing cartoon versions of themselves as they have all this season.

Below, completely out of context and in no particular order, the best quotes from this week’s episode, so you can get a taste of what I’m talking about.

Michael: I happen to like all the hilarious hijinks I get myself into.

DeAngelo: Bartender, let’s get some vodka into this cranberry.

Kelly: And that’s what they call a meet cute.

Jim: They don’t really talk about careers that are made because of unplanned pregnancies.

Michael: I’ll go anywhere to see a turtle…Now I’m gonna have to go online and look at turtles, or else I’ll be off the whole day.

Michael: As you all know, one of my favorite things is fanfare for its own sake.

DeAngelo: I have a peanut allergy. It’s something I live with. It’s a part of me.

DeAngelo: I missed the O.J. verdict. I had to read it in the paper like an idiot.

Michael: I start with some small talk. Maybe a couple of jokes. You might want to develop some characters.

DeAngelo: Get your senioritis on. It’s Lake Havasu time.

DeAngelo: What is the Native American girl’s name?

DeAngelo: I’m telling you, that baby could be the star of a show called “Babies I Don’t Care About.”
