It’s that time of year again, when a mass exodus begins from West Point, NY and Annapolis, MD to one of our nation’s great cities to watch one of our nation’s greatest and oldest rivalries between two of our nation’s greatest service academies. It’s the Army/Navy game.
This year, thousands of fans will descend upon our nation’s capital to watch Army and Navy battle it out on a field of friendly strife. If you’ve never been, it’s an event I highly recommend, because aside from the age-old air of intense sportsmanship, there’s also the pageantry of watching men and women in uniform, who risk so much for all of us, come together for one afternoon, in circumstances so much lighter and celebratory than the ones they face every day.
If you haven’t seen it already, I’ve included the 2010 gameday opener for everyone’s viewing pleasure. If you’re not weeping by the end, you have no soul.
Go Army. Beat Navy.
BEAT NAVY!!!!!!
