EHarmony Foils Itself

Having just moved to Beantown, I put myself on EHarmony to meet some new guys and, I’m not gonna lie, maybe get a free dinner. But for the past few weeks I’ve been fairly certain that EHarmony’s claims to be matching me “across 29 levels of compatibility” are hogwash and that they basically just match me with anyone in a 30-mile radius.

Last night my suspicions were confirmed when I found that I was matched with a friend of a friend from college. I’m a pretty good judge of who I like and don’t like. I think I would have realized six years ago that me and this guy were perfect for each other. So basically EHarmony’s calling me stupid, and I don’t take that from anybody. (I’m going to refrain from going into the story about my first EHarmony date calling the 5-year-old version of myself “fat.” I’m saving that one for the book.)

So EHarmony, you’re on notice.

The Big East Tournament Starts Today!

The greatest conference tournament of all time, at one of the most storied venues in all of sports, begins today at noon with DePaul vs. South Florida.

Now, with the size of the Big East Conference and the double-byes instituted to get all teams into tournament play, we have to wait until Thursday to see the top four teams (Syracuse, Nova, Pitt and WVU). But because of the inconsistency that UConn showed this season, you can at least catch them in action in the first round today at 2 p.m. (vs. St. John’s). And don’t forget to watch Georgetown take on the winner of today’s noon match-up tomorrow at 12 p.m.

Though I can’t (and won’t) predict the outcome, you only need to look to last year’s ‘Cuse/UConn six-OT all-nighter to know that this is going to be a GREAT week.

The Notes Kids Pass in Class…

Yeah, I got in trouble for writing a note to my friend Andrea in second grade. It read, and I quote: “all boys are dog doo.” The note that I am about to show you? Not the same thing. (By the way, I’m a 5.)
