College Gameday: AAA Lot Edition


If you build it, they will…perform.

My parents have had the same tailgate spot at Army football games for at least a decade, and this past weekend, as Army went on to beat I-AA VMI, there just happened to be a Gameday-like platform in the nearby vicinity. Don’t give us a stage and tell us not to use it.

Take a glimpse at the somewhat less famous versions of (from l to r) Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Lee Corso. Check out vid number two for my favorite part, AAA-Lot-Erin-Andrews’ sneak attack on AAA-Lot-Kirk.

The Extra Point: If you weren’t there and can name the “fan” in the Civil War cavalry hat, you will win my undying admiration.

Dancing with the Stars Recap: You Shook Me All Night Long

So I was going to skip the recap this week because quite frankly I’m exhausted and last week’s episode was just so-so. But there are SO. MANY. THINGS. GOING. ON. It’s Rock Week! Which apparently means everyone dresses like K.I.S.S. and Tom doesn’t have to wear a tie. Bristol looks like she’s ready to fight the Civil War. And I smell the Paso Doble. People are hanging from the warehouse-like rafters and there’s a ROCK DANCE MARATHON. Oh. My. God. There are no words.

Audrina Patridge, Paso Doble: I like Audrina, I really do. The girl is a great dancer, she’s sweet and freakin’ gorgeous. But her Paso is making me a little sleepy. She did everything right. But there was little passion. I agree with the judges, there is something missing and she needs to find it, because when she does it’s going to be ridiculous. Also, Bruno is wearing a leather jacket. So rock ‘n roll.

Who Said TV is Bad for You: Your Dancing with the Stars Recap

So last’s week’s DWTS was all full of gimmicks and acoustic music and Bristol not wearing any clothes. This week? TV theme week! This is great because it’s a combination of my two favorite things: dancing and television. It’s like the producers can see right into my brain. Also, doesn’t everyone think Brooke has chillaxed a little bit? Thank God. She was driving me bonkers for a good while there.

So we’re at the halfway point of the season and things are getting surrrrious. To the dancefloor!

Brandy, Quickstep: Brandy loves the Friends theme song because it’s “everything that describes a friend.” Well put. I think this dance is going to be really good, because Brandy is technical, but can perform. And I just love the Quickstep always. But what characters are they supposed to be? I’m gonna say Monica and Joey. Just a guess. I just realized Maks’ facial hair is gone! Not important. This does not feel like a Quickstep to me. It’s got a Lindy feel to it. And a little too much slapstick. And a lot of running. It was a little weird and…childish? Ugh, Len’s impressed. I’m so off.
