Meet the Newest Member of the Turnbull Family!

Unfortunately, my aunt and uncle had to lay to rest their beloved French mastiff Tucker recently (We’ll miss you Tuck, you were such a great dog!). However, they purchased a new puppy (!) Riley – an American bulldog/mastiff mix – after falling in love with her on Mother’s Day. Say hi to Riley everyone! And watch as she plays with my cousins R.J. and Nicole’s pooch Kingston!!

First Communion, Westchester-Style

Me and Brett

Now, I don’t know how many of you have had the pleasure of spending time in the affluent Westchester County, NY, but my parents grew up there, and the majority of my family still live there and I have to tell you…it’s another planet.

On Saturday, my godson (who also happens to be my 7-year-old cousin) made his First Communion at Resurrection Church in Rye. I’ve never seen so many SUVs and blue blazers in my whole life. When I arrived at the church, I could have mistaken it for a yacht club, and the only phrase I had playing in my head was “I can’t have a chink in my chain, Focker.” I also couldn’t help but think of the Sopranos episode where A.J. gets confirmed – Carmela: “Act like a good Catholic for fifteen f**king minutes. Is that so much to ask?” Great episode. Watch it.

Quote of the Day

I have about 157 cousins, and we’re all the same age and we all really like to hang out with each other. It’s a little Brady Bunch, I know, but I don’t have any brothers or sisters, so frankly, they’re the closest thing I’ve got, not to mention they’re really cool people.

Anyway, in an e-mail last week I invited them all on a skydiving trip my cousin Sam (who is quite possibly the craziest person I’ve ever met) and I want to go on. Today, I also invited them to share in the annual Marathon Monday festivities here in Boston on April 19. This is the response I got:

“Hey if anyone wants to just hang out, maybe have a few drinks, and not fall out of perfectly good airplanes or run any marathons, just let me know.” – Tim Turnbull

I don’t entirely blame him for feeling this way, seeing as he has a wife and child now and I don’t want to break up families by killing the dad or getting him so intoxicated he makes bad decisions.
