Quote of the Day

It's not Penny's boat, brotha! Photo courtesy of ABC

Lost. It’s given us such good material over the years, and the last two episodes have definitely lived up to the hype of the much-talked-about last season. If you don’t watch, I’m not going to even try to explain it to you, but so far, Locke is smoke, Claire is crazy, Hurley’s in charge, Sun can’t talk, Jin is being held hostage and the whispers are dead people…I know, right?!?!

But my favorite character might have to be Desmond, not only because he’s so hot it’s stupid but mostly because he’s in love with Penny, and proving that some people are just destined to be together. And that thought makes me happy. So, this week, Fake Locke asks Desmond why he isn’t afraid, and he responds, ever so transcendentally:

“What’s the point of being afraid?”

A great Lost moment, so poignant, so true. But then Fake Lock threw Desmond down a well, so my sentimental-ism for Desmond’s mystic new state of mind, sadly, only lasted for a few seconds. Desmond gets back at him later in the episode by running a wheelchair-bound, Sideways-world Locke over with his car. It makes sense, trust me.

Scenes from next week promise super creepiness mixed with Willy Wonka music. I can’t wait!.

The Double Score Showdown: Better Late Than Never

Kick those legs, girl! Larkey/ABC

So I’ve got the DVR going and I’m ready for some serious recappin’. On top of the judges handing out scores for BOTH artistic and technical merit, they are looking for specific moves in every Tango and Rumba. Here. We. Go.

Erin Andrews, Tango: Uh. Oh. Erin’s injured. But her favorite athletes are the ones who don’t talk about their injuries…so we’re gonna watch a 30-second clip about it. Dancing injuries are serious Erin, get that checked out. I feel like Maks is dragging her around a little, but the girl can high kick like no other. Damn! I agree with Carrie Ann; Erin’s performance suffered because of her concentration on the technique. Well that’s what you get for changing up the scoring Carrie Ann!
Score
Technical: 6, 6, 6
Performance: 7, 7, 7

Where’s My DWTS Recap?

So, I missed Dancing with the Stars last night, for reasons I don’t need to go into here, but let’s just say I am not happy about it. I did DVR it, however (and btw, don’t you love how DVR became a verb? Discuss amongst yourselves.) and I plan on watching it tonight, with a full recap, if you all will still have me. I’m super excited to see how the double-scoring worked out.

In the meantime, I would like to throw it to my expert analyst, Chris Beal, for a little taste of what we missed last night:

“Here you go, a straight guy’s view of Dancing: The Pussycat girl can just stand there. She is smoking hot. Pam Anderson made a gay dancer straight.”

Watch out world! DWTS may have a new judge quite soon!
