Last week, Len challenged the DWTS contestants to tell a story with their dances this week. While I know some of the couples will be able to pull this off, I have a few in mind that I think are going to crash and burn (*cough Kate Gosselin *cough.)
This week, the couples will be dancing the Paso Doble, Quickstep and the Waltz, with the Paso and Quickstep being two of the most challenging dances the show produces. Let’s hope there are no surprises in the elimination this week too. Some of these dancers are way too talented to be sent home early.
Evan Lysacek, Quickstep: I hear Evan has broken toes. How do you figure skate for years on end and break your toes doing a one-minute, 30-second Jive? Their story is about a husband who is mad that his wife is late. Doesn’t sound very complicated. I love Evan’s solo! But there might be too much “fuddling” around for Len’s taste. All in all though, it was super-cute!

Buzz Aldrin, Waltz: Although Buzz is certainly not the best dancer on the show, I feel like his story is going to captivate the audience: a father coming home from war. It’s patriotic, which Buzz always plugs himself as, and he’s also trying to work hard on his technique. And of course, he’s dancing to “What a Wonderful World.” But really, the dancing just isn’t good.

Jake Pavelka, Quickstep: I’m not sure how I feel about Chelsie’s Egyptian Quickstep idea. But Jake was impressive last week and I think he can pull it off. I agree with Carrie Ann, too much production, not enough dancing. It looked like a regular Quickstep instead of having a true Egyptian theme. Not my favorite.
Score: 7, 7, 7 (Winner, winner, chicken dinner)
Niecy Nash, Waltz: A 1960s Waltz about a black girl and a white boy in love! This is going to be good. I think Niecy really puts a lot of passion in her dances, regardless of whether the technique is good or not. And I think she does the slow ballroom dances really well! Oh, a dip spin! Most of the time I hate the Waltz because it’s so slow – but that was really moving. No props – just storytelling.

Chad Ochocinco, Paso Doble: I love when masculine men do the Paso, it’s such a manly dance. I think Chad could be really good at this, but he could also be a one-hit wonder, so I’m not totally confident. Hmm, this one is going to be hard to judge. I feel like they did a lot of technical moves that I don’t understand.
Score: 7, 6, 7 (Hmmm, I thought the judges’ comments were nicer than their scores)
Pamela Anderson, Paso Doble: I love that Pam Anderson always looks like she just woke up. And Charo is here to teach her Flamanco. I LOVE Charo, she is so f-ing crazy. Even the people making her subtitles don’t know what she’s saying. Oh man! I thought that was awesome! A few missteps, but what a performance!
Score: 7, 7, 7 (I thought it was better than that)
Aiden Turner, Quickstep: Aiden is dancing to one of my favorite songs, so he better do it justice! Hmmm, it’s a little bumpy. Aiden’s lucky he’s good looking, because he’s really not that great of a dancer, even though I think he’s giving it some effort.

Erin Andrews, Waltz: Personally, if I was receiving death threats, there’s no way in hell I would allow someone to blindfold me. I think Maks could be Erin’s stalker. This dance is sexy! And Erin’s doing a good job – yay! No more awkwardness. She’s gonna get high marks! Woah, Len hates it. Calling it boring!
Score: 8, 7, 8
Kate Gosselin, Paso Doble: I’m scared of Kate and the punching bag. Tony should be too. I like the theme, definitely, and so far she’s dancing better than the past two nights combined. Great eye contact – daggers! The judges, however, HATED it. “Super bitch from hell” was the nicest thing said.

Nicole Scherzinger, Quickstep: I’m really excited for this. I love the Quickstep and I really like to see it done well. I love the sailor costumes, so adorable. And they are telling a great story, with lots of slapstick – very theatrical. But I think they’re going to get points taken for it not being traditional, and breaking hold during the dance. Oh man, they are getting ripped apart. Incredible performance, but really not a Quickstep. These scores should be interesting.
