Who chose Monica Seles?

One week from today, ABC will announce the official cast for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars during an episode of The Bachelor Pad (which is actually going to force me to watch The Bachelor Pad which I have successfully trained my brain not to do. This will then force me to either vomit or pass out. It’s all in the name of blogging people).

I’m so excited for the new season of DWTS I may just step-ball-change until my feet fall off. But when I’m not doing that, I’m also thinking of who should be cast in this new season. We already have some of our hints and speculation (my mom thinks Kelly Ripa is going to be on because they’re doing some inane contest to see which radio host should fill in for her on Regis and Kelly while the Ripster goes on “vacation”), but I think the cast I cooked up is pretty freakin’ amazing. Please feel free to add your own picks below. Suggestions are always welcome, but not necessarily taken into consideration.

Nicole and Derek win! Adam Larkey/ABC

Now, this might not come as a shock to a lot of you, considering Nicole blew away the competition for most of the season, but after Monday’s showing, the judges had me thinking it could be anybody’s game. (I’m also pretty confident in my suspicions that the judges give arbitrary scores based on what producers want, but whatever it’s good TV!)

Tuesday night was a night of showmanship and fun, and what a great way to end what has been one of my favorite seasons! All of the contestants were back for one more dance (Kate Gosselin is still terrible), and past winners and contestants crowded the audience to get a taste of the greatness that was Season 10.

Ahhhhhhh – I’m so excited! I can’t believe it’s already the finale. But the celebrities – Erin Andrews, Evan Lysacek and Nicole Scherzinger – all look excited, laid back and ready to go.

The celebrities will perform four dances over the next two days in search of the Mirror Ball Trophy. First up is a redemption dance, a dance the judges feel the celebrities could have done better in. Should be interesting!

Erin Andrews, Samba: Erin is basically in a bathing suit, but whatever, she’s got to get votes wherever she can. This Samba is much better than the last, where all anyone can remember is Maks taking his clothes off. Cute, but I don’t know if it was finals caliber. The judges liked it, but let’s remember that Evan and Nicole are getting a second chance to improve too.
