About a month ago, I started to become extremely stressed with the normal, mundane, everyday kind of stuff. I could feel my body tighten every time I had to get on the bus and make my commute across town. I became restless wondering how I was going to finish all of the schoolwork I have left this semester. I was frantically checking my email and writing down lists of everything I had to do in a single day. And I worried constantly about all of the things in the world I can’t control. About a month ago, I also sent out my annual email asking everyone to tell me what they’re thankful for this year, and it changed everything.

We’ve added a real live doctor to the staff! Dr. Sam is a neurologist and my best friend since we almost got kicked out of confirmation rehearsal in eighth grade. For her first post, she would like to share with you some insight into her recent move to the laid-back state of Colorado. If you like Dr. Sam (and I know you will), she’ll be giving medical advice on this blog from here on out. Send any and all questions to us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or on Twitter @NoMadBlog.

There are so many tough things we can remember about 2012, but so many happy and awesome things too – the birth of babies, weddings, 60th birthdays, new jobs, amazing trips, and Army almost beating Navy (heartbreaker). Tonight as the ball drops, hug your loved ones and think back on all the good things that 2012 has brought us. It can only get better in Lucky 2013.
My love to you all and Happy New Year – I can’t wait to spend the next year (and many more) at your sides!
