Help Salesian High School Send Care Packages to the Troops

I’m usually on the other side when it comes to caring about Notre Dame (as in I’m usually on the side that wants to beat the Fighting Irish), but since this is for a good cause, I’ll support it.

Salesian High School in New Rochelle, NY (nickname “the Eagles” – they know who to represent) will be collecting items to send to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan for Thanksgiving. Items include, but are not limited to: granola bars, oatmeal packets, cereal, candy, Ramen Noodles and pop tarts (and can I get a care package as well?). SHS is working in conjunction with Notre Dame’s New York Alumni Chapter in its Operation Gratitude, which is also part of the Notre Dame-Army football game, which is being played at Yankee Stadium on Nov. 20.

Donations can be made to:

Salesian High School
148 East Main Street
New Rochelle, NY 10801

Or you can email me at nomadblog.wordpress@gmail.com for more info. Donations should be received on or around Nov. 10.

A Moment of Glee: Heart Attacks are Just From Loving Too Much

So I think I cried about 37 times during last night’s Glee, and inexplicably, I thought it was one of its funniest episodes. How does that work?

Heeeeeere’s the rundown: Finn makes a grilled cheese with the face of Jesus (grilled cheesus) and prays that he gets to touch Rachel’s boobs; Kurt’s dad has a heart attack and ends up in a coma; Sue doesn’t believe in God and her big sister is adorable; Puck only performs songs by Jewish artists; Rachel sings to people even when they are in a coma and can’t hear her; Mercedes goes to a church where they wear hats; Artie scores a touchdown (in his wheelchair) and wins the game!

Tina: Last week we’re too sexy. This week we’re too religious…
Brittany: Now I know what Miley feels like.

Elin Nordegren Reaches “You Go Girl” Status

The former Mrs. Tiger Woods is showing American women what it means to stand up for themselves.

After years of watching Vanessa Bryant, Silda Spitzer, Dina McGreevy (no, your husband’s gay, he does not want to be married to you) and our own Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stand by their men while they cheated, lied and messed with the sanctity of marriage, I’m so freakin’ happy that there’s still women out there who will not stay in a broken relationship, no matter how much money, fame, political prestige or huge-ass diamond rings are in it for them.

Thank you Elin for taking your kids and getting the hell out of town. While it’s somewhat easier for you to walk away (at least financially) than it may be for some women, you’re setting an example that needs to be followed.

P.S. I think you should admit that you hit Tiger with a golf club (even if you didn’t do it). It can only put you on a higher pedestal at this point.
