We’re another week into summer people. The weather has so far been cooperating, people are generally in a good mood, and the only part of my body that got sunburned over the weekend was the top of my ears. That’s a win in my book! Oh, and Independence Day is Friday!! Not sure how things can get much better, but here’s the stuff making me happy this week.
Back on the Boat: More than a year and a half after Superstorm Sandy, Captain Curly is back on the water! During the storm, two neighboring boats landed on her, and she’s been in the boat hospital since winter 2013. This past weekend, the Turnbull crew took her out to Great Gun (the end of Fire Island), over to the Moriches Inlet, and up the Ocean Ave. canal. She ran like a dream. Welcome back, Cap’n!

Happy Monday! If you had a tough time getting out of bed this morning, wake up! The sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day! People on the subway are still miserable, but that doesn’t mean you have to be. Just think of all the things that will make you happy this week. Here are some of mine.
Wimbledon: Any good Anglophile knows that today marks the beginning of one of the world’s classiest traditions. Break out your tennis whites and your best near-silent clap for the start of Wimbledon, which began today with a whole mess of really great matches.
You can follow the results at Wimbledon’s website, and I’d also recommend following Wimbledon’s Instagram feed for behind-the-scenes action and beautiful shots of those trademark grass courts. Predictions? I think Sharapova is on fire and I want to root for Murray, my Scottish brother-from-another-mother.
Audrey’s Photoshop skills are second to none.
Ok, I’ll admit it. I’ve been caught cheating. And I’ve done it to one of the things I love the most in this world: My blog.
You’ve all noticed it. We’ve been distant. I haven’t visited it as much (in fairness, you haven’t visited it that much either). But the pressures of work, family, boyfriends, a really, really tough winter, and the straight hustle have made it hard to maintain this relationship.
But all that is going to change. I’m recommitting myself to NoMadBlog, and it starts today.
