As most of you know, I’m pretty much obsessed with the Royal Wedding. And while that may be a little bit bizarre, it is not without some encouragement from the Royal Family themselves, for today they launched a website dedicated solely to the impending nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton. It’s kind of like those wedding websites your friends make that give you a list of the wedding party and where the couple is registered, except better. Yes, this is what I will be doing for the rest of the day.
Included in the website is information about the service, which will be held on April 29, the procession to Westminster Abbey, and the reception. Current press releases regarding the couple’s recent walkabouts in Wales and St. Andrew’s, as well the announcement of the bridal party, occupy the lower half of the site. But then the Royal website gets all high-tech on the right hand side, with its own YouTube, Twitter and Flickr accounts.
While I really appreciate the monarchy’s attempts to share this wedding with the people, I think what we really want is links to Kate’s favorite fashion pieces and YouTube videos of Prince Harry in da club. I willingly offer my services to them if they want to do a save or splurge section, or if they feel inclined to have someone live-blog the ceremony. Seriously, this is a legitimate offer. No takers? Fine. I’ll do it on my own blog then.
Have fun perusing the site. Less than two months until the wedding of the century.
Why are all the bridesmaids infants?? I don’t understand! Don’t they have friends their own age?
