Guy of the Month: RJ Turnbull

RJ and self portrait, Spring 2010.

Name: Raymond James Turnbull, III
Age: A just-turned 25
Occupation: Sellin’ Shiz
Likes: Nicole Schulz, Bulldogs, Chipotle, plus a weird obsession with women’s (namely mine) bathing suits
Dislikes: Haters

If you’ve never heard of him, well now you know. This is RJ Turnbull, former child model, college hockey player and obnoxiously good-looking dude. Seriously, it’s gross. This is my ploy to launch RJ back on the scene as some type of model/actor so I can do his PR and manage his career. Basically so I can make the dough. While RJ and I do share the same body type, I don’t have the looks, so I have to live vicariously through him and his hockey hair.

How Much Would You Pay Me to Wear This Dress to My Cousin’s Wedding?

The Carroll Family at Uncle Tom and Aunt Eileen's Wedding, 1993. You know you love this picture.

Those that know me know I’ve been obsessed with this dress since the day it fatefully entered into our lives, and I’m getting the feeling (mostly because I don’t want to go shopping) that it needs to come out of retirement Dec. 4.

But I do need a little coaxing, because this dress…it’s a lot of look. The last time I tried to pull it off was when I was invited to my cousin Matt’s graduation dinner at West Point. I was promptly disinvited until I could find something more appropriate to wear. To say I was disappointed would be grossly understated.

College Gameday: AAA Lot Edition

If you build it, they will…perform.

My parents have had the same tailgate spot at Army football games for at least a decade, and this past weekend, as Army went on to beat I-AA VMI, there just happened to be a Gameday-like platform in the nearby vicinity. Don’t give us a stage and tell us not to use it.

Take a glimpse at the somewhat less famous versions of (from l to r) Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Lee Corso. Check out vid number two for my favorite part, AAA-Lot-Erin-Andrews’ sneak attack on AAA-Lot-Kirk.

The Extra Point: If you weren’t there and can name the “fan” in the Civil War cavalry hat, you will win my undying admiration.
