Translation: Darrin’s Dance Grooves Leads to Dancing with the Stars

So, Erin Andrews and I haven’t been seeing eye to eye on a lot of things lately. Namely, I don’t like her dancing and she has no idea who I am and doesn’t care. But I (or to be honest, People magazine) may have found just the thing to help us put our differences aside and come to some kind of peaceful truce.

Ten years ago, I was a stocky, awkward sophomore in high school who liked Dawson’s Creek, playing basketball, and teaching myself how to dance with the Darrin’s Dance Grooves VHS tape my friend Sam got me for Christmas. From the looks of this video, Erin Andrews is part nerd, just like me (you have to wait ’til about the 44 second mark).

There’s No “I” in Team: Your Weekly DWTS Recap

Ah! The team dance! This is one of my favorite nights on Dancing with the Stars because I love to see the dynamics between the celebrities as they practice and compete together. Remember when all the girl pros wanted to kill Susan Lucci a few seasons ago? Remember the Single Ladies Mambo (see video above)? The team Cha-cha-cha (to Madonna and Gaga!) promises a lot of fun!

Erin Andrews, Quickstep: Len did not like Erin’s Samba last week, and Maks promises a proper Quickstep this week. And he’s also promising to take his pants off. Erin’s not having it. I’m a little sick and tired of them fighting. I need something else from this couple. Hmmm, they took their clothes off, but had other ones on. How cheeky! But the stripping has messed Erin up and she lost her timing. She’s definitely quick-stepping, but the hold and what-not was weird. Ugh, Len liked it. Called it her best dance…I need to take some classes on what these different dances are. It’s times like these I think this show is rigged.
Score: 9, 9, 9

I really hate Brooke’s necklace.

The Top 5 Contributions The Hills has Made to Society

As we began the final season of The Hills Tuesday night, I couldn’t help but let my mind wander back to the days at 41 Orkney Road watching the first season of Laguna Beach. A lot has happened in those six short years: I am actually considered an adult now, the economy went from great to bad, Michael Phelps has won countless gold medals, the country elected its first black president, and Lindsay Lohan has been to rehab a total of 77 times.

With all this change, I can’t help but wonder what this brand of reality television has taught us. Let the countdown begin:

1.True friends (or frenemies, or acquaintances lumped together for the sole purpose of the show) know what you’re thinking. All those silences between Audrina and Lauren (and Audrina and Lo, and Audrina and Justin Bobby) are really just signs that these people are so close, they don’t need words. Their bonds are so strong, that sentences don’t need to be finished. So deep.
