Will and Kate: “They’re Comin’ to America”

Official word from Buckingham Palace (or its website, tomato/tomahto) is that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also known as Prince and Princess William of Wales, also known as William and Kate, will be visiting the United States this July. Biggest. News. Ever.

The couple, who’ve had a July visit to Canada planned for some time, will be headed to California shortly after for a whole two days. This will be William’s first official visit to the States, while it will be Kate’s first visit ever.

Some notes: While I’m over the moon about the fact that the royal couple and I will be in the same country, I’m upset that they’ve chosen the Left Coast. Does Kate Middleton’s first impression of the United States have to be California? Let’s hope for Napa, San Francisco or Carmel and not LA. And let’s be honest. The people in LA are probably more interested to see if Pippa will be tagging along or not.

Someone in My Building has a Serious Agenda

Back in April, ABC announced that it was going to cancel the long-running daytime soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live. But yesterday, coming home from what was once again an awesome Zumba class, groceries in hand and struggling to find my keys, I gave the sign a second glance. “Save Soaps AMC and OLTL!” I went back and forth about publishing this phone number, but ultimately determined this person is asking for it.

“The Highest Appreciation is Not to Utter Words, But to Live by Them”

I stopped by the 9/11 memorial in Boston’s Public Garden this morning on my way to work to pay tribute to everyone who lost their lives on that terrible day. If you’ve never been, it’s a great place to sit and reflect, should you need to.

Just thought I’d share some photos of the memorial, covered with flowers and notes from people after Sunday’s news that Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, is dead.

Always remember. Never surrender.
