Free Cone Day!!

Ladies. Gentlemen. Kids of all ages. I’m happy to report that today, April 12, is Ben & Jerry’s Annual Free Cone Day, and, because I’ve had my ritual coffee ice cream in a sugar cone, I can safely say that things are going along swimmingly.

For those of you living in a cave, Free Cone Day is good ole Benjamin and Gerald’s way of thanking their customers for all their support and patronage. For all your hard work eating ice cream over the past 365 days, you get a free cone/cup of your choosing. While often it’s only one scoop per customer, I can tell you that the scoopers at the Ben & Jerry’s in the Park Place Hotel are more than generous.

Find the nearest Ben & Jerry’s location and enjoy! Don’t say I never gave you anything.

The Boston Sports Club Wants to Help Me Look Like Kate Middleton

So since I was already feeling bad about myself for not marrying a prince and not being able to pull off a navy blue skirt suit ensemble, my gym’s attempts to turn me into a princess were well received. Except that we’re not British, and the Boston Sports Club has absolutely nothing to do with the impending royal wedding whatsoever. In that case, this marketing campaign is just weird.

Things You Need: e. scott originals

Ship Pendant by e. scott

Not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could start my own business, set up my own shop, and sell the things I create. So it’s not surprising that I completely envy Boston’s Emily Scott, owner, founder, designer and creator of the e. scott originals jewelry line.

Trained at the North Bennet Street School, Scott “specializes in wearable, handmade, precious metal jewelry.” As you can tell from her pictures, she is very much inspired by nautical themes and Victorian aesthetics, however the custom aspect of her business promises the creation of “a wide range of jewelry made to be worn and loved.” Each piece is individually handmade, and in my opinion, really beautiful.

Personally, I’m drawn to the necklaces with the large pendants, and the really cool wide metal cuffs, but Emily also creates dazzling wedding bands, and can take anyone’s imaginative design and make it a reality.
