The Year of the Blog: NoMad is Turning One!
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the creation of this blog, and I just wanted to thank all of our readers for your comments, your ideas and your overall support. You rock!
Since March 4, 2010, we’ve received more than 50,000 total views, and have been Freshly Pressed five times! I’m sure we’re not breaking any records here, but for something I created to be more like a personal notebook than anything else, I have to say those numbers are pretty cool. And, while I certainly can’t pick out a favorite post (come on! these are like my children), I can say that I’ve had fun writing each and every one of them (except Clips for Coach; those are all Denny).

Letter to Lil Wayne
I’ll admit that I love Lil Wayne’s music, and I too am probably somewhat to blame for perpetuating the language that rappers – and many men in general – use towards women. I hope I can teach my daughters that we are not defined by what anyone thinks or says about us. And I hope they’re cool enough to compose open letters in music video form.
