The First Rule of Fight Club is You Don’t Send the News Station Video of Your Fight Club

This is basically what a 6th grade boys bathroom looks like.

I remember being 12 years old. And thinking that the boys were soooo weird. And I always knew they were doing something strange in the bathroom. But it turns out it’s something very different than what I thought.

According to the Daily News, nine sixth graders from Stewart Middle School in Tacoma, WA were expelled this week after school officials learned about the students’ ongoing bathroom “Fight Club.” Officials learned about the club from the local news station Q13 Fox News after the station obtained video footage shot on one of the student’s camera phones.

The Daily News reports that the video includes two middle-school aged boys involved in a full-on brawl. The boys’ faces are blurred out, but from what I know about Fight Clubs, one of them is definitely the alter ego of the other. The school district issued expulsions to all students involved in the fighting. They then expelled themselves for not knowing that a serious Fight Club-like situation had developed in their own bathrooms.

Pretty Little Liars Might be the Best Show on Television

Two can keep a secret, if one of them is dead.

That’s a bold statement, I know, but the show just came back for the winter season and I totally forgot how much I loved it while it was on hiatus. Don’t get me wrong, the writing is terrible and there are more blank stares between castmates than on an episode of The Hills, but this show will suck you in.

First, the entire plotline began when Allie, one of a group of five girlfriends, was killed (maybe, that’s actually still up in the air). The four remaining friends then began receiving text messages from a cryptic anonymous being that refers to themself as simply “A.” And “A” knows all of the girls’ secrets. You’re intrigued already, I can tell.

Panera Bread vs. Au Bon Pain: Back Bay Edition

The greatest thing ever happened to me yesterday.

On a walk to Borders bookstore on Boylston Street, I passed a sign that altered my everyday existence: Panera Bread is coming to Boston’s Back Bay. I’m pretty sure there were beams of light and angels singing around the storefront window. Unfortunately that didn’t show up in the picture.

I’ve been asking God (and for the past month I’ve turned my wishes on Santa) for a Panera Bread close to my office for a year now. The closest thing to it, a Cosi, is 1.1 miles away, according to Google Maps. I once made all the girls in my office take a field trip there on our lunch breaks. Four set out on the journey, only two made it there and back. Clearly, we were putting our lives on the line for delicious flatbreads.
